Learning, Environment or Earning

Remember the day when you graduated from college, that proud moment of getting a degree and turning into a professional. Oh and how could you forget that happiness in your heart after landing into your first job? Your all excitement was just for getting good salary or for getting an exposure to the corporate culture?

Now let’s go back to the day when you actually started working or rather I would say when you got introduced to professional life.

Just moved out of college and graduated with some super cool friends, trendy cloths and smart gadgets and here comes your first day at work. So what’s going on in the mind?

What would be the environment? Will there be more of teacher or friends? What should I wear? When should I reach? What will I do? Whom should I speak first? Will I get time for lunch?

When you enter corporate world, you tend to learn altogether different dimensions of life. During student life the circle and perspective towards life is quite different whereas in corporate world, you have to be more independent, there are no friends or family to support or guide you in small — small aspects. You need to figure out everything on you our own whether it is pantry or printer. Whether it is about using various machine right from coffee machine to copy machine.

So what motivated you to stay in or leave you job? Is that the environment, learning or earning?

  1. Good start…. I feel nostalgic…i would say for me it started with earning as I needed the most at that time…. A needy person always works hard .so,learning automatically happen or rather happened with me atleast. Environment hardly matters or mattered for me.

  2. Well addressed .. working space environment plays major roll even if person is self-motivated . At different stages motivation could b different some times money sometimes stability sometimes brand . Same for leaving .
